Water Leak After Sirius Install
I recently installed siruis radio in my 03 ram. I ran the antenna wire through the 3rd brake light area and now I have a slight water leak. I've tried using foam gasket tape, but it still leaks a little bit, only a few drops when it rains. I don't want to use an RTV sealant, because I may need to get the assembly out if a light burns out.
Any ideas?

pull the light back out and try a small bead of silicone grease on the same side of the gasket the wire runs through. Just enough so it squeezes out to be wiped away. silicone is water proof. but will not harden like rtv.
This is a removable grease, not a sealant. You can get it at autozone stores----or similar. The silicone grease will never set up, and is removable. Also, it won't hurt the paint.
Just a suggestion

I installed my XM today and ran the wire through the 3 brake light. However, what I did was run the wire along the outside of the foam gasket, down the side, then under the gasket at the BOTTOM of the light. I'll seal it with a bit of silicone. I don't' know if it will help prevent a water leak, but logic would seem to dictate that water will run downhill along the path of least resistance.
Several of my buddies had this problem. A couple options, put the small bead of caulk along the light....or place it over the drivers head on the roof and run the antenna wire down your doors weather stripping...or place it on the dash. Placing it on the dash gives a very unprofessional look. Running the wire down ur doors weather stripping look great and professional with NO leaks
having it on the dash does and is very annoying...so I popped the plastic trim covering the speakers and placed a magnet stim on the metal underneath and put the antenna there.....I cant even see it...and works just fine.
