Default MTX Thunderfoam for QC

Recently I purchased a dual 8" sub system from MTX for under my rear seats in my 03 QC. I was very disappointed with the performance. Has anyone else purchased this system. Can you replace the woofers? Is there a better one out there?

Do a search for "subwoofers." There's been a ton of posts about this and there's alot of info on those pages. Alot of the guys on here are running dual subs under the rear seats.

What type of box are they in? The only way to make them sound really good is to go with fiberglass, its not always the woofers fault.

i have the thunderform under my seat in my 2003 qc i got the one without the amp because its underpowered i think it sounds pretty good for 2 10s in that little cramped space, i was thinking about upgrading the subs too though. i dont think they have dual 8s they only come with 10s

If it really is 8" subs, I dont think your going to get a whole lot of deep bass from them. Probably good for rock music, but not for the deep rap-type bass.

Ya your right they are tens I was mistaken. But their still pretty unimpressive, I'm really looking for subs that will fit in the very shallow enclosure.

I got the 2x10's MTX Thunderform - at the time it was a packaged deal so i thought it was a box with subs +amp, but didnt realize the amp was built in. I was so tired of waiting for the damn thing to come in, i settled for it. I haven't researched whether or not i can change this built in amp, but I must say that while I want more power, it sounds good. And if it really sounds good from inside.

Deep down i know im too old to be cruising shaking the neighbors windows, so its probably a good thing i bought this on, or i'd look like a schmuck.

To answer your question though, yes my subs could use more power.....

yeah the amp in the thunderform is like 150 watts so i got the one without the amp and put a mtx 300x1 on it i think it sounds pretty good i mean its no 12" but still hits pretty hard for what it is!
