Sam why did you choose "Fram" as opposed to the other Manufacturers? what kind of HP have you seen? what was the price?
Also, what was wrong with the throttle body? I'm a newbie, so really go into details.

Since you modded it to fit your ram, does the new "half box" press up against the hood like it should? If it doesn't, you are defeating one of the purposes of a CAI. The "half box" blocks out alot of the engine heat to keep the air colder than it would be otherwise.
modified the heat shield also, so it all fits like it was meant to be. it was quite abit of work being it wasn't designed for my truck. and while i had the throttle body exposed I took it off and cleaned and modified that also (cut the top flush and smooth) put it all together and took it for a drive. LOVE IT! throttle response has improved and when you hit-it it sounds MEAN! roars up front and seems that the exhaust(flowmaster) took a new lower rumble. On the highway, it gets to speed smoother and faster feels like less effort. reading the MPG overhead gauge(not the AVG) it gets to the 14-15mpg in less time than it used to. Or so this is my feeling i'll see how my MPG actually do with time.
I asked other people with CAI and most said that the heat shields don't touch the top of the hood. so i'm not to worried about that since my filter is stuffed pretty deep towards the front right corner off the fender. fresh air is flowing up from the bottom of the fender and from between the headlight and the radiator
