73
I live in Fort Worth, TX...it has been hot lately-somedays my trucks overhead reading says up to 102...somedays 97...but i have noticed lately that it reads 73 a lot...even when it's like 98-100 outside...sometimes it takes the overhead 5 minutes to read correctly...sometimes it never changes, it always says 73...on short drives it never changes...& 73 is always what it reads...anyone else have this problem or a remedy that i can fix it myself
Well I have an 06 2500 diesel and sometimes mine reads negative 40 when I first start it up. I turn it off then back o0n and it is ok. I have to take it back to the dealer this week and they are going to reflash the overhead computer. They said that sometimes when they PDI the trucks new that for some reason it doesnt program the right way and sometimes it loses it's flash memory and they said that they are going to try to fix it. I am not sure if this is the same problem that you are having or not but maybe it will give you some idea of where to go.
I've had my 06 do the negative 40 once and when I stopped and started again it was ok. I have notice it does take a while to change temp, but it is never one specific and I've never had not change except for the -40 that one time. So Iguess this doesn't really help. Sorry
I've noticed weird things with mine as well. If I drive to work in the morning, then drive my truck around the worksite it never changes until I go on a trip of about 2 miles or so. Also, w/o digging through the manual is there way to view instant mpg instead of avg mpg?
