Default Removal of Resonator question

What happens if I take a stock 2004 1500 hemi and just remove the exhaust resonator and replace it with a straight pipe? I'll leave the converters, the rest of the piping, and the muffler as is. Will it be loud? Will it help the HP? Will it help the torque? If it isn't going to be real loud, I'd like to try it. Anyone else tried that? I can't afford a major exhaust mod right now.

Nothing, did it on my 05. Sounds alittle louder, but not much.

A few people have just removed the MUFFLER and kept the resonator as there muffler... Sounds real nice and a decent performance gain to boot.

I would take some of the money saved, and have a high flow "Y" pipe installed where your down there.... thats the biggest restriction on your exhaust system.
