Anyone hear anything about body lifts being way expensive for '05s?
I was thinking about putting another couple of inches of lift on my truck yesterday, so I stopped by my local 4x4 shop. They said that the '05 Dodges were the most expensive to do. Anyone heard of this before? They quoted me almost $1000 to do it. I have worked with them for a while now, so I know that they aren't out to screw me. I think I may just stick with the 6" lift that I have on there now.
BTW, just bought the Superchip Flashpaq. That thing is cool. Trucks a little faster now, and finally my speedometer works like it is supposed to.

Yup, my truck is 4 wheel drive, so mine may sit a bit higher than your 2 wheeler, but a 6" lift would look good on any truck. I had my lift installed by Les Schwab, but I can't remember what it cost. I know that 2 wheel drive trucks cost less because of the simplicity of the lift.
I put 35x12.50x20" Toyo Open Country tires on my truck. They are a little more expensive, at least $300 per tire. Consider the width of your stock wheels when buying different tires. If you want to go bigger, I would suggest getting a wider wheel. I think you can get away with 33" tires on an 8" wheel, but I can't remember. My rims are 10", if that puts into perspective.
Hope this helps, if I remember what it cost for the lift, I will let you know. I would say just go down to your local lift shop, or Les Schwab type place and ask for a quote. They usually have that stuff already on paper so it wouldn't take long.

Yeah the 05's seem to be exspensive to have the body lift installed. My 11 year son and I installed mine in a bout 10 hours. It was surprisingly easy. The reason it costs so much is beacuase it takes so long and these shops are getting $65-75 an hour. The kit only cost me $330. If you decide to it yourself don't forget the brake lines........
