I traded in a 2002 f250 diesel in May. It ran well for 75000 and then everything went. Batteries , ps pump, torque converter, u-joints, shocks, brakes , rotors, car vibrate at 45mph like crazy, etc etc etc. I must way the 7.3 diesel is a great engine. Its just everything attached to it that stunk!
I now have a 06 1500 laramie quad 2wd. Its taking a little time to get used to it. The Hemi is nice but the truck is alot lighter than what I am used to.
Seems like the fit and finish is definitely better than Fords. I test drove the 150s and they rode smoother but still shook at 45 andwere a little sluggish with the 5.4. They were also way more expensive for a comparable truck.
Good luck with your new truck!

I had a 1990 full size bronco and I still think it was a fun truck, except for the overdrive auto tranny that is one of the most expensive to repair. At 170k miles I thought it was time I burried her before it died. It was fun to mess around in since it cost around 2k for the beast. Now as far as a "real" truck a dodge can not be beat.
well the 04 Ford F-150 bit back, I was not pay attention and did two grand worth of damage to the right hand side of the box, whole pannel on the 8 ft box needs to be replaced before I trade in the ford..

A 1500 would have suited me, But I wanted the 5.7 with a manaul trans, had to go to a 2500 or stay with a 5.7 auto in the 1500, or 4.7 with a 6sp...
I don't need a monster truck for towing, The F-150 did ok for what I did tow, the Ram will be slightly ahead of the f-150, even with the manual trans, and gas mileage can not be any worse than the 5.4 3v, it is a pig
After the rear axle seals were replaced on the Ford F-150 at 40,000 KM I said to hell with Ford and factery ordred the Ram..
I have allways owned Ford trucks, best one was a 97, since than every Ford truck I have owned rates less than a pile of garbage, Now I know Dodge has issues and I took a chance on the Ram, I avioded a automatic due to horror stories I have herad, and I like to shift for my self, the only thing that sucks in all of this is the Ram is going to be a work truck, It's going to need extra TLC from my self to keep it looking factery fresh ...
