I know that you can "force" your automatic tranny to shift by accelerating untill its about to shift from first to second and the releasing the gas for a split second so the RPMs go back down and repeating this process (basically its like speeding up all in first) but will doing this hurt your transmition?

I know exactly what you mean... It kind of makes it slam into gear. I know it works because if I do it right with my truck it will make it chirp into second gear. If I just floor it and leave it, it won't do that.


As far as hurting your transmission, I'm sure it could but sometime it sound like it hurt the gears worse than the tranny.
