anyone elses mpg seem to have dropped after adding exhaust and CAI
my MPG seem to have dropped since adding a super 40 exhaust (FM), and a Air Raid MIT (CAI).
the Air Raid doesnt seem to given me anything, not sure that was money well spent or not?
I thought if anything the mpg was suppose to go up with those, stay the same, but not go down??
I didnt add the mods for MPG, but i wouldnt have wanted them to drop - havent driven a lot of highway, but i was getting 15.4 avg, now its just a lot lower flucuating between 10 and < 15.

Driving habbits chnaged? I know when people go from a stock exhaust to a nice sounding aftermarket they tend to hit the gas more often to hear it.
I have a Magnaflow cat back exhaust and a Volant CAI. After installing the exhaust, my MPG went up .5. I noticed a drop after installing the CAI, but then it dawned on me that since the weather was getting warmer I had turned on the AC. This was the reason for the MPG drop. I turned the AC off, and my MPGs went up 1. So all told, the exhaust/CAI combo gave me 1.5 MPG more.
I would take a look at everything closely. I could see not gaining anything, but to actually lose MPG is surprising.

Well for the first day after I got my borla cat back installed my gas mileage was crap (11.7mpg) but then again I was also gunning it alot breaking it in, but since I filled it up on sunday and reset everything on the overhead my mileage has gone up significantly. before my average mpg was around 14.5 and now the overhead says its 16.1mpg and thats after driving for about 50 miles after resetting everything so I hope its not a fluke!!!
try re-setting ur mpg computer and also, it will take a little while for your computer to trace the increased air flow and re-adjust your fuel to air ratio. It should balance out, if it doesnt the I dont know what to tell you but stay away from the Volant CAIs, they're restrictive and IMO not worth the money. I would go Air Ram.
