ok so my cousin rearends me while im helping him move and now my tailgate is screwed up. im pissed but ill get over it. ive got some estimates and 700$ to fix a tailgate is alot of money. does anyone know where i could find a new tailgate for my truck. its an 05' reg cab short bed. if i could find a new one for cheaper than that and just get it painted i would be in good shape. if anyone knows anything please let me know.

I have seen new take offs on Ebay. Wrecked 3rd gens are also starting to show up in local junk yards.

 

I agree...best bet try a junk yard. Other than the badging, I don't think there's any difference betweent the 3d gen years.
