The absolute LOUDEST EXHAUST

RE: The absolute LOUDEST EXHAUST
the loudest I have ever heard on the road was a 98 12 valve cranked WAY up running twins, 5 inch down pipe with dual 6 inch stacks comeing out of the bed no muffler, no nothing after the turbo.
that thing would wake people up 4 zip codes away.
on a gasser, I would say swap the headders, mount the cats and o2 sensors right before and after the cats and put the exhaust shooting out of the hood. that should be loud enough.

i know i dont have a ram but i do know exhaust, are u wanting duels or single, if duel i would go with two 40 series FM's an go with a highflow cat or cat back, or do away with the mufflers alltogeather an weld in two chrome cherry bombs or stingers if you want it loud an deep, it will be street legal but still be load as hell. *edit* i gotta start readin the whole thread, sorry didn realise u already got it done!

RE: The absolute LOUDEST EXHAUST
I have been looking through the exhaust forums for a while now. I have a 2006 Dodge 1500 Hemi MDS, SLT, Lonestar, 20" Wheels. I have replaced the muffler with a straight pipe. There are actually 2 resonators on the truck one right after the pseudo y-pipe and one at the very end of the exhaust. I ran the truck for 2 days with only the front resonator and a straight piece of 3" and it was very loud. I had my local muffler shop fab me a straight pipe that would follow the lines of the muffler and it worked like a charm. The shop only charged me $18. I had them flare the ends and clamped it in so I can replace stock muffler if need be. I have sound clips of all three exhausts. Stock, 1 Resonator and straight pipe, 2 Resonator and straight pipe in place of muffler with stock exit. I am pleased with the sound and performance. I will keep everyone posted on upgrades as they become available.

RE: The absolute LOUDEST EXHAUST
I had a 20" Vortech muffler installed a month or so ago, its pretty much a glass pack, but quieter, too quiet haha so i was wondering, if i were to take out that muffler and just straight pipe it from the cat back, would that be too loud? I saw that lilredexp straight piped his 4.7L, but i have a 5.9L, is there much of a volume differnce?

RE: The absolute LOUDEST EXHAUST
Just have them do dual exhaust from the headers.
Follow the line of the stock exhaust and where you have your muffer, have them weld two flowmasters together and then dual either out one side, or dual right behind both rear tires.. That's what i'm doing.. Should be HELLA LOUD!!!

I have a super 40 si/do straight out the back, it sounds good to me. You think the side exit sounds better?
what kind of headers and high flows do you have? Im always debating whether i want new headers -
also with new headers, is it still wise to go into a y-pipe; why not just do true duals. 2 super 40's single in /single out

Not the kind of crappy loud you get from open headers or straight pipes. And it was ridiculous with my headers and hi flows.
