2006 Ram Hemi - Engine sounds 'cold'
I have a brand new 2006 Hemi Ram. Only a few days old, and I'm around 350 miles on it now.
I'm no stranger to Dodge, but will say hands down this is the most exciting, powerful, and smooth new vehicle I've bought.
Now, I'm having just one small issue/concern with it.
Everyone knows what a cold engine sounds like right? You're in a hurry, jump in the car, and go. The result is a 'hollow' and moaning sound a couple seconds when going.
Well, I've noticed this same sound with my new Hemi Ram. It's definatly not cold, because like anything I like, I treat it good. I sit let it warm a little and go. But once in awhile off the lights is that 'cold' engine sound. I've popped the truck in park, and just reved it up... and it doesn't seem like a real responsive or snappy "Vroom".. more like a slower and drawn out return to idle speed.
Heck, maybe I'm too used to the 'snap' of my '71 440CID in the Challenger. A hard rev on it takes a couple seconds to return to idle.
So, just wanted to see if anyone had thoughts on this. All I can say is
- This isn't related to the A/C, as that is off
- Outside temp is high 70s, nothing crazy
- Truck sat on lot a long time, as there was no interest in a reg cab. I picked it up showing 20miles
Could this issue be related to the break in?
Any thoughts are welcomed.
Mike
