Default K&N 77 series or K&N FIPK air intake?

What are the differences between these two air intakes by K&N? I see that the FIPK should increase power more than the 77 series but is there something I'm missing here? Drive an '04 dodge ram quad with a 4.7, standard, 3.92 gears. I would like to start modifying and this is the first step for me. Does anyone have information for me about these two intakes and what the major differences are?

The only difference I know of is the 77 Series is all Chromed and the reg. C.A.I. is not. I don't know of any horsepower differences between the two. Maybe, someone else can shed some more light on this.
Cheers!

I have a FIPK i would say it is better not for just the HP gain. The FIPK is the one that is CARB Exempt so you dont have to worry when you go to get a smog test. The FIPK uses a diffrent filter here are the specs on the 2

FIPK
RF-1040 Product Specifications
Product Style: Oval Tapered Universal Air Filter
Base Outside Length: 9 in (229 mm)
Base Outside Width: 5.75 in (146 mm)
Flange Inside Diameter: 4 in (102 mm)
Flange Length: 1.5 in (38 mm)
Flange Type: Centered
Height: 7.5 in (191 mm)
Top Outside Length: 7 in (178 mm)
Top Outside Width: 4.5 in (114 mm)
Top Style: Metal
Top Material/Finish: Stainless Steel
Filter Re-Oiling Amount: 2.6 oz (77 ml)
Weight: 2 lb (0.9 kg)
Product Box Length: 9.6 in (244 mm)
Product Box Width: 9.2 in (234 mm)
Product Box Height: 9.9 in (251 mm)

The 77
RC-5106 Product Specifications
Product Style: Round Tapered Universal Air Filter
Base Outside Diameter: 6 in (152 mm)
Flange Inside Diameter: 3 in (76 mm)
Flange Length: 1.75 in (44 mm)
Flange Type: Centered
Height: 8 in (203 mm)
Top Outside Diameter: 4.5 in (114 mm)
Top Style: Metal
Top Material/Finish: Chrome
Filter Re-Oiling Amount: 1.68 oz (50 ml)
Weight: 1.5 lb (0.7 kg)
Product Box Length: 11 in (279 mm)
Product Box Width: 6.5 in (165 mm)
Product Box Height: 6.5 in (165 mm)

The filter for the FIPK is more of an oval than just a round filter, The "heat guard" on the Fipk in is a little bigger that the 77, more cold are to go in.
