Steering damper / stabilizer ???
Hi to all!
Yesterday I picked up a Rancho RS5412 steering damper as I was told some of my front end shake, after hitting a bump, might be related to the 39K miles on the truck. It's a 2003 Quad 1500 HEMI. Front shocks were replaced by dealer under warranty at 28K and the rears replaced by me yesterday (KYB Monomax). All other linkage appears tight including the ball joints. The truck was aligned at the same time the front shocks were installed.
2 questions:
1. I can't locate the damper on the truck...does it have one?
2. Should I have it realigned, using suggestions added on the other posts of + 4 to +5 caster?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
Rick

the 2500 has a steering damper... On the 1500, you have rack and pinion steering, no damper the 2500 has the recirculating ball with damper/stabilzer.....
Sway bar link and Bushings??? bent rims...Tire PSI ?????.

Thanks...I thought I was going crazier than I am already. Kept looking and looking for something that wasn't there to begin with. TP is ok and no bent rims...gonna check the sway & bushings as soon as the rain stops.
