The Hemi Tick and Lifter issues, when do they usually present themselves I am in the market for a truck with around 100 000 kms on it or about 65 000 miles for you americans. Are they something that was fixed through a recall? If not then how much and what is the fix for these problems?

Does the 03 Hemi shut half of its self of when cruising like the current hemis?

What is the 4.7 FFV? I have looked at the dodge website a few times and built trucks and priced them and there is always 2 4.7 options the 4.7 and 4.7 FFV....

If the difference in fuel milage is only 2 mpg then I would probably choose to have the hemi.

Were the other reliability issues mentioned to affect the 02s not present in the 03s?

Can you buy a truck in the states and then ship it to Canada? The reason I ask is that those seem really high in price. Granted they are probably in Canadian dollars, but still. I am finding many SC 4x4 SLT models in my area for under 14K USD with less than 50K miles. I suggest that you make a list of what you want and don't compromise until you find the one you are looking for. I've compromised on some of my vehicles in the past and always regretted it.

As far as the lifter problem and Hemi tick.....There was a batch of bad lifters/valve spring in the 03 Hemi. They messed up early on and were fixed. If it doesn't have a problem now, it probably doesn't have a bad lifter/valve spring. Also, in regards to the Hemi tick, I've never heard of a malfunction with a Hemi tick, just a noise issue.

Sorry man the 03' HEMI's dont have the MDS System in them I think that started only with the later model 05' and 06's so you'll be running all 8 cylinders.
