Default 2002 Ram 4.7

Ok hello! I have a 2002 Ram that has a cooling problem. When I first got it (new) I was losing a little coolant every now and then. They did a pressure test on a few occasions and found no leak. Seeing that it was not an issue I let it go... and I now have 70,000 miles on it and it keeps over heating? I have the heat on to keep it running (sucks!!) I changed the thermostat to tell the truth the old one looked fine. I checked the sending unit. Changed the cap, ???? What is going on? Could it be the head gasket? The oil is clean. Thanks

my advice always stinks. I know you probably already cleaned your radiator but check your air filter too. It might need changing. Also, isn't there something called a coolant pump? if you still havent figured it out, that might be it.

It could be a head gasket... Can you smell coolent when your driving or when you turn on your heater? If so it could also be a slow leaking heater coil... But yes a head gasket could cause you to consume fluid and run hot. Have you had your "CLUTCH FAN" looked at... If your clutch fan is not working then that as well could be causing your problem...

PLEASE keep us posted...

Sounds like a head Gasket to me too. Take a big whiff of your exhaust, if its sweet smelling its more than likely the head gasket.

Worst case scenario would be cracked block. Do you have water in your oil when you do an oil change?
