Default 05 stock shocks or steering column issues?

Ihave a QC and recently added CAI, Super 40, and nerfbars. To my belief only my nerf bars may be contributing, but check this out.

Truck has 11k on it, and i am getting this weird knock from the front right tire, sometime i think the left side to?

the sound is most noticable when i turn left and am hitting a small dip

I think i have heard the sound from the left side too and also when just going straight and hitting a dip, but not 100% sure on this. Im not ruff on my truck and its still under warranty, but wanted to get your guys thoughts? Also am slightly afraid dealer will say its something i added and walk away from the issue--

what could this knock be, are the shocks bad or somethign with steering column,

anyone else have issues like this?

TIA,

Boyd

I've had the same problem too. I've had it in repeated times and nothing can be found. So far they have replaced the sway bar end links and greased the bump stops. No change. It hasn't affected anyting else, so I've been living with it.

As a side note, mine only does it at low speeds. A tech also suggested that it may be the hood. There is a lot of flex in these vehicles due to thier weight and length.

Doc,

Came up with your response below, after searching forum for keywords "steering and knock". Your post was back in Feb. 2005, in response to someone asking about a knocking sound coming from front end. Seems you and the original poster experienced exactly what I am experiencing now: knock from front end when turning the wheel at low speeds. Per your note below you were living with it - wondering if any updates? Did it get worse or did you ever find out what the problem was? Would appreciate your input, as I don't want to **** away two days going to and from dealer to have them diagnose a problem that can't be found, or for which there's no fix.

The particulars:
2005 4x2 Ram 1500, laramie, hemi engine
10K miles
Options: front and rear mud flaps and nerf bars
issue: hear knocking from front end when turn steering wheel at low speeds. Hear most often when pulling out of driveway (downward sloped) at low speed and turn wheel. Have also repeated sound when driving ~10 mph and turn wheel side-so-side

Thanks in advance for your input

Paul
