Horrible loud noise
I am getting a horrible loud whine noise from my brake pedal. I just changed the rotors and all pads. When I step on the pedal when the truck is running (moving or not moving) I get a loud whine noise. It gets worse the harder I press on the brake pedal. If the truck is turned off and I hit the pedal no noise. I think it is a brake booster or master cylinder issue..?? Has anyone had this problem? Brakes feel good and firm, and doesn't feel like air is in the line. I just get the noise, almost like a vibration from the pedal area.
I dont know about this one..... Id go take the tires back off bleed the system and check the calipers and make sure theyre not sticking on anything and then pop the hood and check the booster and see if it looks like any brake fluid is leaking into it/out of it. On my old truck the master cylinder blew a seal and all of my brake fluid was pouring out of the booster and completely ruined it. The only other thing I can think of is what kind of truck is it? Most desiel trucks have an exhaust brake (or something like that) on them and if it wasn't reconnected or got unhooked somehow and wasn't put back on right you would have escaping gases that could be making it whine when the engine is running and stop when the engine is shut off.
it's a 02 4.7
So the noise is comming from the brake pedal area when I squeez it. Sounds like air is escaping somewhere from the booster and making that horrible noise. Like I said it makes it at idle when the truck isn't even moving. How hard it is to change out the booster??
