2006 Ram HEMI QC, Changing a tire!!!!
[:@]
Hey Everyone!
Here's a head's up if you never have a flat. Tonight, (Thursday evening @ 09:00 pm, 07/13) I was heading out to meet some friends for drinks at the local watering hole. First I needed some cash so I was heading towards the old ATM god.
About a mile from the bank I came across a terrible accident between a Auto/Motorcycle. I rendered aid, (Yes, I'm certified for first aid and CPR) and afterwards upon driving through the intersection I picked up a piece of the motorcycle in my right front tire.
I tried to get home before it went flat but no luck. I made it about a mile before home. I had to change the tire.
Well this was my first experience in changing a 20" tire and let me tell you, it's a pain in the ***!!!!
My advice to everyone is first thing tomorrow get out the owners manual and familiarize yourself with how to take the spare tire off and where to place the jack. It will make it that much easier when the time comes.
I had to change mine for the first time in the dark, flashlight batteries dead as a door ****, and the mosquitoes biting the hell out of me!
Bottom line, if you have never had the pleasure, (yea right) of changing one of these 20" wheels my advise would be to familiarize yourself with it. Mine happened under the worse of conditions. In the dark, bad flashlight, and bloodsuckers buzzing abound. Took me over an hour. Live and learn!!!!
I learned my lesson.

No kidding,
Something else that's good to have. Flares! Flashlight with fresh batteries, Latex Gloves, Rags, and even one of those white paper paint suits. (They're cheap).
Those things can save a date if you're on your way to one in or in the middle of one.

Don't know if you have them in the U.S but I have a "wind up" LED flashlight.
You crank/turn a handle, which generates power and a battery inside the flashlight, stores it up.
I can wind for 5 mins and get something rediculous like 25 mins worth of high power light.
The LED's are so efficient and produce a really crisp bright light.
If you have one of these, just toss it into the truck and you'll NEVER need to wory about those darn batteries being dead again.
It's so small and almost indestructable as well. You can knock a nail into a piece of wood with it and throw it on the floor or get it wet without damage, so they're ideal in the truck
They're only cheap but such a good tool and you'll thank yourself for buying one, on that dark cold rainy night, changing out your wheel.

I hear ya man, its a bitch. This is why I have my spare in the bed... it stays cleaner, and its easier to remove. I weighed a tire/wheel combo of the 20" rims, and they weigh in at 75lbs!!! A 22" rims and tire from the SRT-10 trucks weigh closer to 95lb!! ...... And to think I want to put 35's on my truck, hahaha.
sweeet, those white suits rock, i wore one once during paintball and it was winter, omg was that the coolest, they had hard time seeing me, then waam!! walked the trigger and yet another out opponent

Those flashlights are great. I gave one to my father and brother and they impressed the heck out of me. As for those paper whict jumpsuits, you can pick them up at any paint or hardware store. I think they're around $5.00.
