ok iv heard a few people talk about resanaters(sp?) what are they? what do they do? and were are they located at?

 

you have one or two resonators. if you have one it'll be in front of the muffler( usually, and will look like a muffler only smaller). if you have two like my 06 hemi DID one will be in the front and one behind the muffler. they restrict air flow making the truck real quiet and thats about it. may help with emissions also

 

kinda act as of cats huh? dont guess i have anythen, cause all iv got is converters back lol.

 

They're nothing like cats,all they do is control the note of the exhaust, nothing else.

 

If you enjoy how quiet your truck is on the highway, leave the resonators on.

 

The resonators DO NOT restrict air flow. They are open straight through, no restrictions. If you are familiar with the old style silencers you could by for your 2-stroke dirt bike years ago, then you know what the resonator consist of. A large canister, perferated tube and packing material.

 

what year is your truck? if it's an 05 or before, it's the small looking muffler after the rear axle...
