Default Power Cut Out

I was getting on the throttle two nights ago to pull out into traffic and wile at WOT it cut out. The rev limiter activated and it just stopped, no upshift, nothing. I was concerned so I backed off for a second and hit it WOT again expecting the trans to kick down and the Hemi to pull like it always does. Instead I got the rev limiter again, just like when you gun it in park or neutral. Is this the engine management program doing this or is something else more serious going on? Hasn't happened since, hasn't happened before.

My last car did that from time to time. A 97 Jeep Grand. Turns out, the dealership had missed that there was a leak in one of the tranny lines and the fluid would slowly deplete. When it started slipping, I'd just add another shot of the good stuff and she'd be right as rain. Just a thought. Never hurts to look.

This has happened to me 4 times in the past year. I have no idea what causes it, but 2 of the 4 times everything seemed normal unitil I tried to pass someone. Stepped on it and got the cut-out just like you mentioned.

I pulled over, turned the key off and restarted and all was okay again.
