Default Re-calculating tow capacity?

Is there any kind of equation to calculate a tow rating? My truck was previously rated at around 6000 but I have since lifted it and put bigger tires and rims on it. The taller tires have really messed with my gears and am wondering if there is a way to find out what my current rating would be. I know I can re-gear it to get the stock feeling back but I am wondering what I can tow without re-gearing it.

I tow a camper. Try posting the question at www.trailerlife.com and www.rv.net towing forums.
