overhead outside temp display problem
Hey Dodgers! I have on 04 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad.. 4X4 blah blah blah... anywho.. the over head display for the temp appears to be about 10° off. Is there a way to reset the unit? I'm guessing that unplugging the battery for a little while will do it, but I was wondering if there was a different way? Or is there something I should be checking out? I tried to hit the reset button while the display was on outside temp, but no luck. Of course I might not have held it down long enough?
To my knowledge there is not way to reset it. I am guessing the sending unit is bad.
Keep in mind, if you are parked on blacktop and get in and start off it will read hotter than it is for a few miles.

Beurnoulli's Principal:
If you accelerate the airflow around an object (Ram haulin a**) the pressure of the air decreases. As the pressure decreases, the temperature of the air mass decreases.
Just pluggin with you big time!

I have to guess there is a calibration offset for the sensor, and if you are willing to pay the price , the dealer, with an OBDIII scanner/programmer, can probably fix it. But you would have to pay the scanner time. Give the service deptment a call and ask if it can be done
I like Pigs idea better/ just drive it like you stole it.
