Default 348 CID

I remember about 7 months ago kind of arguing on here with a guy about the 05 HEMI being 345/348 cubic inches, I have a window sticker for my truck right here, and it is a 348, so I was right even though I ended up agreeing with the guy at the end that it was 345...so the 05 HEMI is 348...didn't know for sure...

The above wouldn't work for me...but if your point was to say that 5.7 is = to 345 that is correct, but in terms of "5.7" it can also be 350 or 345 or 348...they are all 5.7

I believe the 5.7L Hemi's have 1HP per cubic inch.

Back in the day (60s) that is how they did things.... 327/350 meant 327CID and 350HP. Maybe they were just saying 348/345, or 348CID and 345HP. Personally I do not like the liter conversion, give me CID!

i did the metric conversion thingie and it said it was a 348 (347.7...) but on dodges website it lists the 5.7 as being a 345 cid engine i dont know if maybe its like 5.69 and they just rounded up or what. im not saying your wrong im just pointing out what dodges website says. it also says 1 hp per cubic inch on there.

Well my window sticker says 348cid...hemi was, i believe the first to do that was this modern hemi, 345 hp to 345 cid, i think that was in the 02 or 03 hemi when they first came out, for 05 it is 348 im guessing by my window sticker, but 5.7 encompasses 345 through 350...my old gmc sierra was a 5.7 liter 350...since the number 5.7 is small and 348 is large it takes a greater amount, say 351 to go beyond 5.7, where a 351 would be a 5.8...maybe im full of crap but i know my engine is 348...

thats sort of what i was trying to say but couldnt figure out a good way to say it. like 5.7 could mean anything from 5.71 to 5.79 in which case it would still be called a 5.7 but could translate into a different cubic inch numbers. im not sure but the 351 might be a 5.7 as well. i know for a fact that the 350 was.

hate to disagree but 5.7 means 5.65 to 5.74... (my motoercycle for instance is a 998cc but is listed as a ltre or 1000 or 1.0)

unless you are ford...

Thier famous 5.0 motors should have been labeled 4.9

Hemi is listed at 5654 CC...

also hemi.com (an official daimler chrysler website dedicated to hemi's past and preasent) says that the hemi is 354 cu. in.

bore and stroke are 3.92 x 3.58.

The site needs to be updated as it does not mention the srt hemis, and claims a maximum output of 330 to 340 HP... of course it could be using the newer more updated (as of this year) SAE ratings that are shifting everyones HP numbers by a couple percent. (viper and zo6 both picked up a couple rated HP under the new scale)
