Default Wheel/brake wobble concern '02 SLT 1500 Quad

Hi folks:

I'm a 'newbie' here, so forgive me if this is an old or incorrectly posted topic. I have an '02 SLT Quad Cab 1500 with the 5.9 liter lump and love it... except for the brakes.

In the 60,000 miles I have driven, mostly freeway, I have needed three rotor skims, and have recently needed new factory rotors fitted. My concern is that I am planning on using my truck to pull a trailer and worry if the brakes are up for it? Were my problems due to a bad batch of rotors, or can I expect the same with the new ones, or worse when I'm towing a 5,000 lb. trailer?

Cheers,

Andrew

I would suggest going with an after market rotor. Power Slot makes a decent one. I had to replace all 4 of my rotors on my 04 4.7....due to warping, at 20,000 miles.

I have the same truck/engine as you do.
I havent had any problem with brakes/braking.....but I do have a question for you. I pull a 6x12 enclosed trailer (with a v-nose) with 2 motorcycles and gear = totaling approx: 2,000lbs

Does your 5.9L have problems pulling it? Do you pull with the overdrive off?

I have changed the gears to 4:10's but still think it pulls like crap...I also get 9mpg (w/ overdrive off = 70mph tops) 10mpg (w/ overdrive on = 55mph tops[:@])
I live in Florida where the roads are flat.
