FYI:

Center console's which do not open.

This was a topic which came up some time ago, and if it was possible to take it apart and modify it so it would...Don't bother!

I just spent an hour taking mine apart...The storage compartments are in there, but to recover the piece and fit it with hinges etc....would not be worth the effort.

I will try some junk yards and see if they will part with one that does open.

i haven't completely taken mine apart but it seems to already have the hinge ... so you think i would just need to re-cover it? how does it latch close?
