Default nerf bars

yeah, i have been asking for a lot of advice lately, and i thank everyone for their help! i am just in love with my dodge after driving a two chevys for the past 10 years, so here i go again.

I have been looking at getting some nerf bars for the quad cab, and have seen many different brands and types (chrome vs. powder coated aluminum). Any suggestions on brand and material? Any brands to definitely stay away from? Thanks!

i have a set of wilmore stainless steel and love them. Very heavy duty, the mounting brackets are made of like 1/4" steel and the tubes are 3" they look very nice. Id stay away from chrome personally cause it has lots of maintenence or else it will rust. If you want that look go with stainless ones. Westin bars are nice as well.

I got the all stainless steel Nasta bars for around $235 for a reg. cab. damn good looking bar, NOT the eaiest to put on. the bracing brackets are genaric as hell so when you put them on they bend to fit where they need to be....which is lame but it does come out nice and strong...took me about 2 hours to do the first side then 20 mins to do the second side. they are one of the only ALL stainless nerf bars out there...even the hardware is stainless. one other note...forget about cleaning them like you would chrome, I had to go get some stainless spray on cleaner for kitchen appliances to get them to shine up once i got them all muddy.

these guys had them on my door 3 days after i bought them and were the cheapest I could find.

I got mine on E-bay for $175 delivered. Stainless steel and fairly easy to install although getting the bolts out of the main frame was a bit of a challenge to install them. One of the bolts required me to torque full strength all the way out. I'd suggest that after installing them and driving around for a week or so to go back and re-tighten everything. They are very functional and look great, make a nice offset for the truck.

I was quite impressed with how well the nerf bars complimented the wheels. I mainly got them for the extra step into the cab.

last 3trucks all had powder coated black Westin nerf bars including my 05 1500ram qc have had no problems w/ them. If tightened properly on the bushings they will never rattle shimmy loose, and they do wonders at protecting the lower side of the truck when idiots on cell phones run red lights. Got hit woman was going about 40mph says the officier took a direct hit in the passengers doors. Nerf bar caught her hood sent it under the truck she was taken to hospital, car totaled. I drove my truck home w/ a dent in the nerf bar and some paint scuffs. WESTIN is a good brand
