You guys are making this way to difficult.
Just show it to the service writer, and get if fixed for free.
No sanding, no waxing, no painting on your part - WARRANTY.

I forgot to mention, this is not on a chrome bumper; this is on my painted sports bumper - will this make a difference

to do it they way i said no it will not make a difference but you might just want to do what dodgedlr said and go and see the dealership

After reading this post last night, today I crawled under my truck and noticed spots of rust all over the place, including on the frame! Mine's an '04 with close to 60,000 miles on it. Do I need to worry about this? (Because I AM!)
