Default dynomax exhaust ?

are they worth buying? i've heard the problem with torque loss with Flowmaster and I dont like the way Magnaflow sound so I figured Dynomax would be worth looking into. Also, does anyone have any sound clips of their Gibson exhaust or even a Dynomax?

I just put one on my 06 Ram 2500. I had the stock y pipe cut out, and I needed a new 02 sensor because the orginal one behind the right cat would not come out.

The mufler has across flow design which is suposed to quite down the sound, it's as little louder than a stock ex. Inlet size is two and a half in out let two and a half.

I org wanted two muflers, but the Dynomax is two muflers in one, The tail pipes exit out behind the right rear tire.

over 2000 Rpm the hemi is twice the truck as stock, below 2000 rpm torque seems lower than stock, I have a 6sp so bottom end power is not a issue.

So far I like it, really woke up the hemi and dropped the rpm by 200 at 60 MPH, mileage is too soon to tell..

Drop that heavy stock mufler of your truck and cut out the Y pipe, no matter what mufler you pick, your comming out a head.

did you replace the stock y-pipe with an aftermarket one?

I've actually wondered about replacing the y-pipe with an h-pipe and going to a two muffler setup. One downside I think would be increased back-pressure that corresponds with the greater flow (2 * 3 inch pipes instead of just 1). Any thoughts or experience on this?

i'm guessing that the added backpressure would increase torque.

no, the y pipe was replaced with 2 ex pipes from the cat back to the dyno max and two ex pipes from the muffler out behind the right rear wheel, muffler shop bent them thier on the spot, they did not mandrell bend them, only because I had this done on the cheap, now I find the dynomax is to quiet, but I thinking my mileage is improving a wee bit, performance is still OK, better than stock.
