Default Little help on front diff please!

Hi All! I was wondering if anyone can tell me what kind of front diff the 02+ Ram 1500's come with?? I drive an 02 Liberty, and yes, I actually take it wheeling! Our drivetrain weak spot is an aluminum dana30a that some guys are exploding. Seems to happen when a spinning front tire suddenly gets traction. Anyway, there's rumor on the Liberty boards from a jeep tech is that the diff they use in your rigs may be a stronger substitute. Anyone familiar if its at least a steel cased dana30? If not, whats up there?

Thanks for the help!

The front differential in the 2002+ Ram's (IFS), is a 8" ring gear, or refered to as 'C205F' and in my opinion the most limited on options for offroading. As far as I know, there are zero upgrades for this differential. Many of us would like to find some kind of locker for this axle, but have had no luck. In my opinion, I'd keep the D30 because there are many aftermarket parts available for it. If I'm wrong in saying there are no upgrades for the C205F, then someone please correct me.
