I hear a loud clunking sound it happens when the MDS kicks in, I started to notice it after the cold air intake install .My question is does anyone else have this problem ?

 

That might be from your ac. My truck does that too. Almost sounds like a flapper door opening and closing. Mine does it when the compressor cycles. MDS should be silent. Just a computer function to turn on and off, nothing mechanical.

 

It happens when the A/C is off I guess i'll be going to the dealer .

 

My 04 would do that from time to time when the tranny shifted kinda hard. It is hard to explain, really. It usually happened when I was on the gas and then just kept it on nice and easy, it would shift hard and kinda make a clunk sound. enough so that my wife commented on it. No big deal.

 

I think i know what you are talking about, i notice a clunk when the mds clicks on doing 65mph on the highway. It almost feels like it is going into a sixth gear. I am not too woried about i figured bringing it into the dealer they wouldn't find anything and just say it is normal. Let us know what happens when you bring it in.

 

You're not really hearing the MDS... It's the tranny... could just be learning how to balance the torque changes when it goes from 8-4.. if it continues after more than a few hundred miles of highway/mixed driving, it's a problem... go see the dealer.
