Default Front Brakes

Has anybody replaced the front brakes on thier Hemi's yet. Not at the dealer. I'm wondering if I need any special tools or not. Should be pretty easy I would think. I have 40,000km's (25,000 miles) on mine and the brakes are toast.

I have not done mine, but have done other Ram's when I worked at the dealership. Just make sure you have something to push the piston back in on the caliper. And but on antiseize behind the new rotor on the hub, that way it does not rust on when you go to change them the next time. Other than that I think its a pretty easy change. Thats one benefit of IFS over a solid axle, there is not any time spent regreasing the front bearings like on the older Ram's.

Yeah it doesn't look that tough, and forsure with the antiseize especially if one wheels it like I do mine.

I changed mine at about 50000 kms. Not hard at all.

It is super easy, I applied disc brake quiet to the back of the pads before install. One thing I did notice though, the dust boots on the calipers balloon out when you retract the pistons back into the caliper, I just tugged a little where it sits on the piston to release the trapped air. Otherwise you can damage the dust boots. I would suggest turning the rotors, I bought a new set of rotors so that I could turn the old ones for use later when I need to do the brakes again.
