Default DODGE AVALANCHE?

Should Dodge make a "Crossover Truck" like the Chevy Avalanche complete with the unibody construction, SUV ride, plastic shorty box and movable mid-gate?

Only if they based it on the quad cab, not the mega cab.

NO NO and NO. Why you ask Dodge has done it rite by being different. Take the PT Cruiser for instance. That went so well the Chevy realized it and went ahead and made a sismilar vehicle. Chevy and Cadillac have the Avanlanche let them keep that usless concept. What Dodge makes a similar truck so people can go out and by those gay conversion kits to make look like a caddy. Survey say's NO. Also with today's gas prices for Dodge to introduce a new truck design would be bad. Truck sales are down drastically all across the board for all auto makers. Look at Ford they dicontinued the Lighting line yes they are coming out with the Rouche line with a release date still up in the air. Also the the Ram SRT is no more. Let the other automakers try to keep up with Dodge not the other way around. Just my opinion and you know what they say opinions are like a$*holes everybody has one.

Yes, but unlike the Dodge lineup, the Chevy trucks are now getting 18-25mpg out of their trucks...and even if that's highway miles....its better then what any Dodge truck short of a Cummins can claim to get at that weight/size.

Personally, I dont think it's a bad idea.....but I honestly think that Dodge has issues right now with all the other Hemi powered vehicles sitting on the lots as it is....and I would rather see them do well with pushing those vehicles to being better then they are..

Yea, why can we get better gas milage???? And why can Dodge make a drive by wire system without the delay??? My girlfriends Trailblazer is drive by wire and there is no delay in the gas pedel at all. So when I hear people say they can't make it without delays, I say bull ****! Just some questions Dodge should consider when building new vehicles.

No, crossovers are stupid, just get a quad cad short bed. And in response to the Avalanche, they look rediculous and the rocker panels are all plastic, at least the ones i've seen. And if i am not correct the whole roll bar in the bed is plastic also, or has plastic covering right? Why would anyone buy that POS.

Without reading the other posts here is my thoughts.

It would not fit into the lineup? Why
Already have Durango, Nitro, Magnum (yea, not SUV, but does the same functions), not to mention all the Jeeps and PT. Then take into consideration the Mega Cab Ram. I do not think DC can afford to force in another SUV type car and expect a profit on all of them.

Excellent insight, all of you. I just think that Dodge could do a hell of a job with the allready proven 1500 as a base. It would definatly look cool and it would have the HEMI option.

One big design Flaw with the Avalanche is you can't store the removable pannels on the truck, or the rear window window section once your in truck mode...so it's kinda useless as truck, A full size Tahoe with a 8 fot utility trailer is way more practical..
