2005 3500 CTD 48re is this normal? it scares the p$@@ out of everyone. Is there a way to turn it off?
This time is not so sublime

Welcome to DF. (Err.. you've been here for a while)
As I have read before, when going in reverse and having the door open, this is a normal function, and is controlled by the computer (in fact, IIRC, it was added to a computer re-flash at some point, someone else mentioned this after he had his computer flashed). The only thing I can think of, is located how this thing works, and physically disable it.

Do your mean the Flash rpg, that quasi fixed the display/actual gear problem?

I don't remember what exactly he took it in for. All I know is the guy took the truck in to get his computer flashed, and than afterwords, it did the honk in reverse with door open thing (which, must be pretty annoying [:@]), and someone posted back saying its normal. Sorry, no more info .
