Default new ram owner

hello all
just took delivery friday of a new 06 1500 ram with 5.7auto
love the truck so far--- couple questions
the trx4 package included the 265\70\17 "on\off road" good year wranglers
the tires had to be rebalanced b4 I took delivery as they were vibrating --it still has some minor vibes
do these tires just suck? I ve never liked good year truck tires
also they set the tire pressure at 35 psi all around- I noticed after 200mi. all the tires look to be wearing funny already
like there under inflated- the centers of all the tires look brand new and the inner + outer edges of them all look
worn. I increased pressure to 40 psi--what are you guys running with this tire\truck combo?

next question- the truck already has the dodge plastic mud flaps-- I got the rear wheel well liners-- can I still install these
with the mudflaps in place?

thanks
Josh

The stock Goodyear tires on our Dodge RAM's are pathetic... Mine only lasted 19,000km's and I have heard plenty of other horror story's...

You will have to remove the mudflaps to put in the rear liners. Its no big deal. I di it in under a hour and I was drinking a beer as I worked.

Well I have the same tires on my '05. I only have about 12,000 miles on them, but they are the factory originals. They seem to be wearing ok, although they sqauk every time I take off which is kind of annoying. Anyway though the sticker on the door says they should be inflated to 35psi. I kind of think the tires just suck

When the Goodyear OEM's wear out, I plan to switch over to a set of Cooper Discoverer ATR.

I've had 3 sets of Coopers in the past, and I think they have the perfect combination of wear, grip, looks, and price. Every set of Cooper's I've had have lasted just over 50k miles, and I got the last set for about $450 installed with a full balance and alignment.

I plan to stay with the OEM size of 265-70-R17 (31.6" diameter). I would go just a little bigger... maybe 275-70-R17 (32.2" diameter) or 285-70-R17 (32.8" diameter)... but I want to keep fuel economy as an option .
