Superchips question...
Ive got a 2004 Dodge Ram Quad Cab with the Hemi and have been having some problems pulling my trailer. It has 3.55 rears and I am switching that to 4.10's next weekend. My question is how much more improvement can I get with the superchips tuner with the 3 adjustable settings. Didnt know if it was worth the money. Also I cant get 91 octane gas right where I live, so could I use an octane booster to get the octane right for the superchips tuner? Any help or suggestions would be great.
It just shifts all the time and seems like it doesnt need to be shifing. If it would just get in gear and hold it, but it constantaly shifts down, then has no power and has to shift back up. The trailer weighs about 6000lbs and catches some wind.
I'm not familiar with the Hemi's but I'm assuming it has auto transmission. Does it have Tow/Loc? (Button the gearshift)If it does, engage the tow/loc when towing and that should keep it from shifting all the time. I had a 97 5.9 gasser and I just turned the OD off and didn't have any problems.
Superchips is worth it, but first try this free fix. There is a TSB for gear hunting, I did it and it works ten million times better.
