Default CHANGEING INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

I HAVE A 02 DODGE 1500 4DR 4X4 WITH THE 5.9 THE DEALER SAID THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. INSTEAD OF PAYING THE BIG BUCKS AT THE DEALER. I SEEN SOME ON EBAY A LOT CHEAPER.NONE WITH SAME MILEAGE THO.DOES THE COMPUTER JUST RESET THE USED ONE BACK TO YOUR ORIGINAL MILES OR DO I HAVE TO DO RESET THE COMPUTER.OR WILL THE USED ONE JUST SHOW SAME MILEAGE.ALSO IS THIS A EASY TASK TO CHANGE.

Very Easy to change cluster. Just had to do it on mine. The problem is the mileage reads that odometers mileage. I assume the dealer will have to fix it.

Wouldn't a digital odometer read what is in the computer?

YOou would think so but I have 94,000 miles on my truck and with the change of cluster it is now reading 47,407 which was on the original vehicle. I was hoping I didn't have to bring it to the dealer to get it corrected.
