Sounds like you need a new mechanic, they are only going to leak if you don't tighten the bolts.

Best ones out there for the money are Pacesetter longtube ceramic coated headers.

One of our fellow Dodge owners has a good price on them, check it out at:

Personaly I am a big fan of headers. If you really want to free some H/P and tourque that's a good start combined with a good exhaust system . Will headers leak yes to an extent. Once you install your headers approx 2 days later you need to re-tourque the bolts. Due to expansion and contraction. Once done properly your header gaskets should last awile. Remember when buying your headers make sure you know what size flange is on them. There are headers out there with a thin flange and that's where alot your issue's begin. I would suggest nothing smaller than 3/8ths of an inch. I went with Doug Thorley headers running Magnaflow true dual exhaust with 2 Magnaflow Hi-Flow cats. By the way your mechanic either drive's a Ford or a Geo. Find a new mechanic. Good luck let us know how it goes.

i have seen a product on Trucks called the header hush. the Header Hush simply clamps the flanges together completely flat. i have yet to find an online store with them, but i would call your local auto parts store or speed shop and ask for them. should only be 30-40$. even if you dont have a leak, to me it would be good insurance.
my 2 pennies.

IS Airram going to even keep selling these. There was a post about a week or so ago where he was saying that he was going to finish up the orders he had and stop. I guess he had some other priorities... I think it was armed forces related.
