ORIGINAL: motorider228

my 06 hemi RC 2wd will chirp them from a stand still and normally burn for a second or two but they don't light and stay burning for a while i end up hooking up well. now sometimes, i will mash it and they will spin for a while I think that normally happens when i am coming around a corner and stomp it when i am just out of the corner they will burn for a while. I have noticed that most the guys that can burn their tires for a long distance are the QC guys and us RC guys don't spin them as long. Perhaps it could be that your rear tires are further from the engine and tranny so there is not as much weight on the rear wheels keeping your traction but thats just a guess, i really don't have a clue. has anyone else noticed that?

also off subject a bit, crashedcdo where in vegas do you live? i live out in henderson.
you have a good point. i have the qc and it make the wheel base that much longer than the rc, putting less weight on the rear axle.

off topic. i live west side. Jones and Charleston area. i also work in a strip club if your are interested in that kinda thing.. [sm=ttiwwp.gif]

Ok, here is the deal. I replied to a thread very similar to this a few months ago when I first got my 2006 hemi qc 4x4. I heard many different responces, and even called Dodge and Superchips. Many of you who are unable to spin tires probably have the same problem that I do. I dont know if it she because of the MDS or the AWD options that I have installed, but my truck came from the factory tuned with a torque limiting tune. This was done by dodge in response to complaints from the owners of pervious year hemis having to much wheel spin. Superships sais that if you use thair programmer it will greatly reduce the tune, but they have not totally turned off the torque limiter. For those of you who have tried to power brake and cant, like myself, this is why also. When you hit the preset RPM range no matter hard you mash the gas RPMs wong rise past like 2500 I think it is.

Well I am completely convinced now that my traction is all from my tires which is the reason why I cant peel out or smoke my tires. I got a flat today and since the tires on my truck are special order only I have to use my full size factory spare (which by the way is a great Idea by dodge to put a 20" spare wheel and actual tire) on my rear passenger side. So now until next friday when my new tire comes in, whenever I give it a little gas now I leave like 8ft of tred on the pavement unintentionally. Its fun but I cant wait to get my tire back though I like having the traction more than smoking the tire every time I tap the gas.
