Default Resetting the Computer

Hey All

I was wondering if the you need to reset the computer after changing to a CAI and a muffler change??

I remember seeing something a few months ago about the computer reset thing, but I could not find it.

Now do I just unplug the negative cable or is there more to do like pull a fuse or something??

Thanks

i know someone who is quite knowledgable with cars... he has told me that the easiest way to reset your computer is to unhook the positive cable and touch it to the pos. post of the battery for a split second... be carful when you do this that you unhook anything hooked up to the battery direct!!! or you may fry it.

Yes you need to reset after changing to a CAI.The instructions should tell you to disconnect the negitive battery cable first thing! Its easy to do(reset)if you havent already, disconnect battery terminal, let rest a couple of minutes, try to start the truck with the cable off(this discharges any stored voltage) reconnect and start the truck. It may run a bit rough as the computer resets to the new paramiters ,but it will smooth out NEVER EVER TOUCH THE BATTERY CABLES TOGEATHER! UNLESS YOU ENJOY PAYING FOR A NEW ecm
