Default Gibson Exhaust

Okay, I was reading on gibson's website and it said that some of their exhuasts may require you to lose the spair tire. Is this true for the dual rear exit exhaust? Im looking to put one on my girlfriends ram.

It's much easier to wiggle the tailpipe off and install the new one with the spare tire out of the way. However, I have done the change by just dropping the spare a few inches and moving it to the side. Since it's not hard to drop the spare to the street and shove it over, why not. Taking it off the winch and getting completely out of the way is even better. Only, make sure you've eaten your Wheaties. The spare weighs well over 50 lbs...

i figured i would have to take it off to put the exhaust on, but some kits mean you have to lose the tire all together.. as in no more spair under the truck

Hopefully this picture will settle your mind regarding keeping the spare... The exhaust is a Gibson Dual Extreme (exit out each side) and the truck is a power wagon with a 33" spare slung under the truck. I'll bet that Gibson use the same pipes with the exception of the exit pipes.. i.e. your straight pipes that exit the rear are hooked up where my bends are. I have plenty of clearnance from the spare...

Hope this helps,
Cheers,
Mark
