Superchips settings
Just ordered mine yesterday and should get it Wednesday. Just wondering what settings everyone else was using????? Just don't want to overdo it next week and screw something up!!!
hard to overdo it on a gas engine that is not turbo chargerd.
if it was a ctd that would be a different story but chips on gas motors don't provide enough of an increase in power or torque by themselves to over power your drivetrain in general.
the one thing you might run into is a lean situation that could cause engine damage but it is likley monitored by the motor and hopefully superchips has protection built into it for this (like the A2 unit that Edge makes for the Juice).

Not sure where the mass air sensor sits in the hemi but make sure that if the K&N came with a cold air intake kit that the realitive position of the mass air sensor to the intake tube inner wall is the same distance as stock. The mass air is designed to meter in a certian position (to measure a pre-determined amount based on a predetermined volume) in the tube and changing that position will (or at least can) also cause a lean situation to occur. Also just FYI. The K&N flows good but so does a screen door. You never hear of how well a K&N filters because it does not filter as well as it flows. There is a fine balance between having enough oil to proveide protection from fine particulate dust, and too much oil that gets blown off the filter and onto the mass air sensor that will also mess up the sensor. There are alot of other companies out there that provide both flow, and filter data. I'm not baging on K&N but I know of alot of people that have gone to oil their filters and found dirt and dust on the wrong side of the filter.

just run it on the Economy setting with the 89 octane instead of the 87 and you'll see great results. If you switch to the 91 setting it will advance your timing slightly to compensate for the increase of octane level and you have to run at least 91 in it all the time on that setting. Although to tear it up around town the 91 setting is very very fun. So if you want go fill up a full tank of 91 and set it to the 91 setting and let her rip for that tank and have some fun then with your next week set it for the Enconomy setting and put in 89 see how well you like it. Personally I like the Economy Setting on 89 the most for everyday driving and only switch to the 91 when I want to go have some "fun".
