Default Axle Upgrade opinions???

I found a 9.25 axle for my 1500 dirt cheap on ebay this weekend. I'm planning on installing 4.56 gears, a Detroit Truetrac, and doing a typical rebuild to the rest of the housing. Other than the aftermarket diff cover that I already have for it, is there anything else in the aftermarket that would be good for beefing up this axle? I just want to do anything I can to make it stronger while its on the bench.

I personally don't know but I'd try DTS Drive Train Specialists on Groesbeck in Warren. Many use them, they're very good and helpful.

Looks like for a total front and rear package they want about $400 more than www.4wheelparts.com 4 wheelparts quoted me $500 for front and rear gears with install kits, and another $500 for the rear Detroit TrueTrac. DTS wants almost $400 for the front gears alone, which is insane in my opinion. Once again it pays to go to the larger vendor because the smaller local guys want too much.

I'm not surprised they cost more, but that sounds like an installed price or at least is should be, lol.

That was the main reason I suggested them. I thought they may have had some ideas for more beefing up.
