Default Rims and tires

Right now I have 17" rims on my '05 Ram. I'm going up aftermarket 20" rims and tires tomorrow. Of course I'm excited about this but everyone keeps on telling me that its going to screw with my transmission...is this true or false?

What I want to do is just get rid of some of the wheel well. Which is why I'm going to 20's. I was thinking about 22's but that would probably give me some kind of trouble.

If you want to get any performance gains than get light weight Forged wheels. Forged wheels are alot stronger than cast wheels and being lighter they have less rolling mass which ='s better braking and accelerating.

screw with your tranny.... no. Screw with your power, ride and handling.... yes. First of all they will be a hell of alot more rolling mass to turn, so the engine will work harder, take more power to turn so u will lose some power and acceleration, because there is hardly any sidewall you ride wont be as nice either, bit rougher. Thats about all you will notice though, tranny should be just fine.

Correct, you will have a little loss of power out of the hole. This is why most 20" stock Rams have 3.92 gears.

Can throw off your speedo a little if the over all diameter of the tires is different.

As for 22's messing up the truck, mine are just fine
