'06 "Bumper" & Lower Facia Change
Stopped by local dealer last night and noticed some of the '06's have a different bumper and lower facia design than others - and neither I nor the salesman could figure out a pattern (such as Sport, or SLT, or...). Looks like the newer design lost the slight edge part ways down the facia, and doesn't have the separate flat (and sometimes chromed, dependent upon model/options) piece in the middle between the fog lamps. Anybody else notice this? Is there a specific option or package or ??? that gets the more rounded setup that doesn't have the separate piece in between the fog lamps?

RE: '06 "Bumper" & Lower Facia Change
I am looking into making a change from a '05 to a '07 Ram facia. What I can tell, the front bumper, grill, fenders, and hood should bolt on with the respective model year parts. Only in observation does it look like the front bumper might be different. From what I can tell, there is only the vinyl bumper cover that is different. I sent this question to the Mopar specialist, the reply I received was to check my local dealer. The most I will get out of them is, the part numbers are different (regardless if they are the same part or not, and use the same bolt holes). The main simularity that I have concluded is this, the front bumper is the same, the only difference is the top vinyl cover, down the front sides for the sport model, and the lower air dam/ deflector. The change from '05 to '06/'07 is a different grill, fenders, headlamp lens, and different top bumper cover (straight for the straight edge on the bottom of the new grill, and straight instead of the 2 parabolas under the headlamp lens). I am still looking into what is what, and what is just a bolt on swap. I am more than happy to keep you informed with what I find out. If you get any information, I would appreciate the same.
