well I just ordered a superchip for my 06 hemi ram. It is my first mod, should it make an ok difference? Do any of you run it on the 87 octane mode? if so what kind of gains did you get? all i'm hoping is that now a stock SS or lightly modded titan will be easy lunch for me. Oh yeah I paid $381 after all the shipping costs and such, good price?

It'll make a desent difference over stock, you'll be able feel it. It works the best though when you have an exhaust and CAI so it can breath easier. I run mine on the 87 setting while running the 89 in my tank and when Im not flooring it down the road I noticed about a 1-2mpg difference but thats also taking it easy down the highway. You should be able to smoke a slighly modded titan stock so I wouldn't even bother with them, as for the SS well you'll enjoy that race its fun. With just a CAI you can take um if you dont mess anything up as in perfect launch hitting and laying off the gas when nessesary ext. So you should be able to take them on but it will be close untill you add a few more mods to help the chip work alot smoother.

 

Yeah im 18 and just bought my 06 RCSB 2wd hemi ram so i can't afford it yet but I am going to do a cold air intake, headers, exhaust and a 6.1 cam. I figure my truck being so light right now should be close to or maybe beat an SS if I hook up well. Thanks for the response truckin. Why don't you run it on the performance mode? I have heard people say there is no real noticeable difference between 87 and performance. Also, did it remove the speed limiter? have you had any tranny clunking or any of that with the 87 mode?

You can beat an SS pretty easily by just removing the spare tire and the tailgate. But I have seen a RC with no tailgate, spare tire, just the superchip and exhaust on the performance setting run a 14.4 at 95mph.

 

where can you get the 6.1 cam and how much of a difference does it make. Thanks new to site
