I have never found Slime to be effective in even the smallest punctures, I also have never found it to be helpful in preventing small punctures.

If you fully understood how slime wors you would only use it in an emergency. Basically slime desolved the rubber on the inside of your tire to allow the now much softer rubber to fill the hole. The problem is the slime doesnt know where the hole is so it is going to desolve the inside of the whole tire. This will permanently weaken the whole tire. I would only use the stuff on a tire you plan to replace.

Unfortunately it's not marketed this way, it is advertised to be able to put in your tire to prevent future punctures. I had some real bad luck with flats last year, must have had a half dozen between my ATV's and my car.....Slime never worked as advertised or as a temp. fix.

I wouldn't use slime for high speed applications. It will screw up your balance. Bikes, farm equipment, ATV's... that's about all I'd use it in.
FYI- They make two kinds of Slime. One is corrosive to aluminum wheels.

When I worked at Discount Tire we would not fix tires that used "slime' because it makes it harder for the patch to stay in place. We also fixed all holes with plug patches and used a sealer over the patch to seal the patch to the inside of the tire.

The slime is designed as JRH_PowerWagon_06 mentioned, speeds under 55 i think. I would NEVER run it in my truck tires. Just put on the spare and take it to a tire shop. I run slime in my ranger and on my mower and it works great. I have been hunting and ran over a nail, as soon as i pulled the nail it plugged the hole. You could see the green stuff oozzzing through. I do have to run a new bottle of slime through the ranger tires about every year. I have the stock set of tires on my ranger and I have had many puntures, no problems yet.
