How much power is the new amp? As long as you keep the gain set low, you shouldn't have any problems.

700-watt RMS Power (at 14.4V THD+N, 20Hz-20kHz)
Per channel into 4 ohms: 70W x 4 (0.08% THD)
Per channel into 2 ohms: 140W x 4

will i hear a noticable better sound with just the stock speakers and amp

You will definitely notice a difference, but they are still just stock speakers. 70 watts a pop should be fine as long as you dont crank the gain/boost up. And if they do blow for some odd reason, you're replacing them anyway

Wow, hope you have a clean signal source. Stock speakers are usually not rated that high and money is better spent on replacing them with a more effecient speaker to start with. Amps only amplify their signal, if signal is dirty, sound will be amplified dirty.
