Default Decisions Decisions .. what to buy?

OK, how about some feedback as I am either considering a Powerwagon or the TRX4 with the cummins.

the PW comes straight outa the factory as a beast, and like mentioned b4, the cummins comes out with alot of potential...

In the short run the PW will be awsome... but in the long run, the cummins with FAR out do the PW... IMHO

cummins 4x4 FOR SURE. You will get alot more power with a programmer like a superchips and the gas mileage will be amazing. The PW's get terrible mileage, can't tow as much and are harder to get good power out of......I also do own a hemi.

it depends. if you plan on going mudding alot then id get the power wagon because the weight of a diesel just makes it sink in the mud. ive seen an f250 4x4 lifted 10 inches with 38 inch tires on it sink almost to the axles in the same mud that a stock v6 2wd f150 went right through. the front end weight plays a huge factor. i just have a fetish for power wagons (esspecially white ones decked out with black accessories) so thats obviously gonna be my choice.

I'd either get the PW or a 1500 trx4, they're right the diesel is just gonna sink if you put it in any seriou mud! But if you tow a lot then get the cummins and a winch!

Many would say you are considering polar-opposite options. But I understand, as I have recently waded through this decision. The young guy part of me (I'm 44) said Power Wagon, because it is just so darn cool. I remember the Power Wagons of the past, and simply having the name emblazoned on the tailgate is reason enough to buy the PW. Also, my current truck is a '95 Chevy K2500 ext-cab SB with 6 inches of lift, 35's, etc. But, I really like the fact that the PW comes from the factory with all the goodies. If I was single, or it was just me and the wife, I might go with the PW.

BUT, with 3-kids, and a travel trailer in our future, it looks like I will be going with a Cummins under the hood. Most of my offroading has been rare, and for pleasure only. Maybe 1 excursion per year. I'm sure the Cummins will be Ok for mild-offroading here on California fire roads and such, but definitely will be ruling out anything hardcore or mud related. Also, times are a changin', and gas mileage is more of an issue these days. Back when I bought my '95 Chevy, I never even considered mileage.
