Default New Power Wagon Owner

Ok,

So I picked up my Power Wagon this weekend- and I am very impressed to say the least.

However, there are some issues I have and if anyone has any input I would appreciate it:

1.) No sirius satelite radio, and this is even though I have the upgraded 6 disc infinity system- no attena on the roof no nothing??? I thought this was standard with the pw and the dealer told me some story about how pw's can be ordered as a 26p/26l/26m package? and only the 26p package comes with the satelite. I bought the truck used but it only had 140 miles on it so it seemed new, it was a B-1 unit?

2.) No owners manual, winch control, one key, floor mats, nothing
Real question here is what else should it roll out of the factory with- Obviously the fabric floormats which say Power Wagon correct? Will any warn controller work? No pass airbag switch either. I am going to hunt around and try to replace some of these items and just trying to make it complete or as complete as need be. I have a set of rubber mats for now which I like but I wouldnt mind the carpet ones for summer/nice weather.

Finally if anyone has any information on where I could find service manuals/part lists ect I would appreciate it- I know there are some pdfs floating around somewhere.

Thank you in advance- I am allready loving every second in the truck.

Ryan

That's the problem with buying a used vehicle. There isn't a factory window sticker to prove what its got.
Sat radio is definitly an option. Most PW's I looked at didn't have it. Leather seats are also hard to find.

You can order factory manuals including the owners manual here:
https://techauthority.gltghosting.co...atalogId=10051

My PW didn't have any "special" floor mats. Just normal carpeted ones.
I'm pretty sure the Warn winch controller is the same used on all their winches. looks identical to the one's on my other truck and my ATV.

The front passenger airbag disable switch is only on the regular cab in case of child seat placed there. Do you have a Quad Cab? It won't have one, since the child seats are designed to go in the rear.

Congrats on the Power Wagon, those trucks are aesome!! Take the VIN to the service dept. and have them print a build sheet. Gives you an idea of what is on it.

Ok so naturally I have been driving the PW around and loving every second behind the wheel but it brings me to a couple of questions.

First, I was looking at purchasing the mopar side steps but then I noticed they seemed to hold tight to the body and not really drop down much to actually provide a step. I was curious what fellow PW owners were using for steps and how they liked them. Do you have any, and what brand if you do

Second, although I am still awaiting my owners manual I was messing around in an empty parking lot with the different functions and had the same problem that other members were having with not being able to get both front and rear axles to lock. I got the rear to by putting it in neutral and keeping the foot on the break- no such luck with the front. I know this is covered in the owners manual but any hints?

Thirdly, anybody with the leater seats notice the white insets in the dual climate control *****? are those backlit or no? Mine are not but it seems as if though they should be. Also along the electrical line is the axle lock/sway bar switch. Any time my truck is on the axle unlock light is lit and the green sway bar is on, I am assuming that is normal but wanted to check.

Although I may seem like a dork I am really just getting aquainted with this new vehicle and learning its different functions, which I am hoping the owners manual could help me with.

Thanks in advance, and if anyone around IL has any good spots to take the truck out in let me know.

I think for the front lockers you have to be in 4 wheel low. I have not tried it or read my manual but i think that is what i read.

Some answers...

beaky is right, front locker is with 4 wheel low.

I don't think you have side steps, I think you have rock rails. I've had passenger hurt their shins trying to use them as steps - now I warn people not to try to step on them.

for your dash, the climate sliders are not lit, but the sway bar lock light is.

Well I was trying it in 4 low with no avail, I will just wait until my delivery comes in from tech authority to find out. As far as them being rock rails... NO I dont currently have anything on the truck and I am trying to get opinions from other owners about what they have and what they like or think works well. I guess I should type more clearly in the future. But I appreciate the input and all the great info on here.

I hope that's a dirt parking lot, right?
You will have some serious driveline bind issues if you're in 4WD on dry pavement... even without the diff's locked.

I don't have the rock rails or steps yet either. I am torn between getting the functional body protection of the rock rails or getting something with a step to help my wife get in and out...OK, OK, after driving lifted trucks for years, I am finally ready to admit that a step would help me get my big butt in and out too! I just want the body protection with some kind of step that doesn't hang down too much and wont get torn off in the trails. I was considering going with the Dodge rock rails and then having something welding onto them. Does anyone have any advice?

I have only really used my lockers several times, although I have spent some time getting comfortable with how they engage. ONLY IN 4 LO ON LOOSE TRACTION OF COURSE!
Sometimes they engage right away, while sometimes it is necessary to make a turn for them to engage (I believe the owners manual suggests driving in a circle to help them engage?) My rear locker usually locks up right away, while my front takes a little coaxing.

I have leather too, and I just took a look at my temp control sliders. The white inserts are not backlit...It seems like they should be lit, since everything else is.

By the way, the new truck should have also came with a winch hook-strap.

I have the factory stainless rock rails on mine. They are actually cutout and have a rubber pad to allow them to be used as a step, while they stay tucked close to the body. I installed them mainly for my wife, 5'4", and she considers them a blessing to getting in. My mom, who is nearly blind and in her 80's was able to use them comfortably with minor assistance just to locate the step and hand strap to get in the back.

Hope this helps.
